We've been reading...but the blogging has fallen behind.
The 3rd Night:
This night was a good lesson...but maybe not the most exciting in 2nd and 3rd grade...prime numbers...the Number Devil referred to them as "Prima-Donna" numbers. THis was a tough concept for everyone to wrap their heads around...but they began to understand the premise and even part of the purpose.
The 4th Night:
This night was more interesting...Square Roots (rutabagas),Recurring Decimals...
This brought some interesting ideas to the surface. 1/3 as a fraction...as a decimal this becomes 0.3333333....'til the cows come home'. So if 1/3+1/3+1/3=3/3 or 1, then what about 0.33333333...+0.33333333...+0.33333333...=0.99999999999....is that the same a 1?
The 5th Night:
Triangular numbers!! FUN!!!
